Shrink pot container - Red milk paint

A shrink pot or box is a design often found in Scandinavia used for the storage of food items. This style is an open top type but they work really well for storing spoons, stationary, dried flowers etc. and brighten up a kitchen with the milk painted exteriors. They are made by hollowing sections of green wood, which shrink around a fitted dry section of wood in the base, creating a really tight fit. 

This one is 11cm high and 10.5cm in Diameter.  A red shade of non toxic milk paint has been applied over the Alder wooden container and Pine base. Finished in cold pressed linseed oil, only on the outside.
